A Meissen porcelain coffee pot with early Chinoiserie decor

Of typical, pear-shaped form with rounded handles and pointed spout. With matching lid, not original but of the period, with disc-shaped finial. Decorated to both sides with large cartouches surrounding large chinoiserie scenes with two figures: One a lady seated at a table (possibly an allegory of Fortitudo) and a Chinese couple to the reverse. Finely painted "indianische blumen" and insects below the spout and around the handle. Unmarked. Inner rim of the lid restored. H 18.5 cm.
The porcelain fired before 1723, decorated ca. 1724 - 25, attributed to Johann Gregorius Hoeroldt.
