A Berlin KPM porcelain writing set with Watteau scenes

Model no. 122, comprising a quill stand, sand caster, and inkwell with original lid. Finely painted with courtly couples in gardens after Antoine Watteau. The vessels monogrammed "F" and "L". Blue sceptre mark. Minimal chip to the edge of the lid. 3.1 x 20 x 15.2 cm.
Ca. 1780 - 85.

The dish is painted after a print of Watteau's famous work "La Leçon d'Amour", which is now housed in the Nationalmuseum in Stockholm. As expected, the painting shows a mirror image of the same scene.
