A Berlin KPM porcelain dessert plate from the Generals' service for Prince Ludwig von Hessen-Homburg

Unidentified model. Decorated to the centre with an iron cross entwined with oak leaves and laurel and a copper coin commemorating the battles of 1813/14. Blue sceptre mark with black enamel dash, painter's mark, impressed mark 25, incised III. Decor slightly blackened due to firing damage. D 24.6 cm.
Ca. 1820.

Prince Ludwig von Hessen-Homburg (1770 - 1839) resided in Luxemburg. The service was sent to him there on 1st August 1821, accompanied by a hand-written thank you note from King Frederick William III.
