1st quarter 19th C., design attributed to Karl Friedrich Schinkel.


Cf. v. Roenne, Ein Architekt rahmt Bilder, Berlin 2007, no. 59, for a frame designed by Schinkel for a Salzburg mountain landscape painted in 1812.
The present work is most comparable to the "geringsten Leisten" group listed in: v. Roenne no. 4, illus. 29, moulded frames of ca. 7cm in width.
