A Berlin KPM porcelain vase with a view of the Augusta Hospital

With gilt metal mountings. Unidentified model. Decorated with a panoramic view of the hospital in the park. The based painted in the Italian maiolica manner with foliate ornaments. The handles formed as dragons. Blue scepter mark, red imperial orb mark, impressed marks. The base with a hole for the mountings, the upper mounting ring replaced. Ha ca. 50, with mountings ca. 58 cm.

The Augusta Hospital on Scharnhorststrasse 3 was constructed at the behest of Empress Augusta in 1868 as an exclusive care home for a small number of patients from the Berlin elite.
