A Meissen porcelain chocolate pot with "kauffahrtei" scenes

Gilt metal mountings and replaced wooden handle. Painted throughout with a merchant navy scene. Spout and handle formed as branches. The original lid held in place by four metal prongs. Flattened base with faint blue crossed swords mark and 36 in purple. Chips and minor restorations to the spout, minor losses to the green pigment. H without mountings 16 cm.
Ca. 1735 - 40, decor attributed to Christian Friedrich Herold.
