A Meissen porcelain teapot with a KPM mark

Of bulbous form with spout and handle issuing from mascarons, with the original domed lid. Decorated on each side with finely painted two-figure Chinoiserie scenes within in narrow gilt cartouches enriched with iron red tassels. Gilt lace border to the shoulders. The lid, handle, and spout painted with Oriental flowers. Blue crossed swords mark with K.P.M., 26 in gold. A small firing crack to the mascaron, minor wear to the gilt edging. H 11.1 cm.
The porcelain fired ca. 1723, decorated in the workshop of Johann Gregorius Hoeroldt, ca. 1725.
