A painted wall panel with a Chinoiserie scene

Oil on canvas, relined. Depicting a couple on a landscape island amid bizarre vegetation with an Oriental architecture in the background. The framing cartouche entwined with garlands on a pale blue ground. A male head in a flower crown decorates the top of the frame. Retouches, stretcher replaced. Narrow wooden frame with remains of gilding. H of frame 286, W 163 cm.
