An Abraham Roentgen box

Walnut and palisander on cherry, with brass mountings and iron screws. Rectangular coffer with chamferred edges and a protruding base on bracket feet. The hinged lid can be closed via a lock to the front, the key hole concealed beneath a small door that can be opened via a button under the front edge. A concealed drawer to the right side, which can also be opened via a button under the front edge. Fine veneers of burr walnut and palisander with contrasting horizontal brass mouldings. Restored over minor early shrinkage cracks, one filled crack to the underside. H 14, W 24.5, D 19 cm.
