Flemish 1st half 16th century

A Flemish carved wooden figure, 1st half 16th century, possibly an Old Testament prophet

Carved three-quarters in the round, the reverse flattened. Partially overpainted older polychromy. A figure of a bearded man dressed in a cap and long robes seated on a throne amid a cloud bank. The statue most likely represents an Old Testament prophet, but the attribute in his upraised left hand is lacking.
Minimal wear. Mounted on a newer wooden plinth. Height 21 cm (without plinth).
