Die Nibelungen (1. and 2. part)
1922-24

77 vintage gelatin silver prints. Each approx. 21.8 x 27.5 cm (24 x 29.8 cm). Each blind stamped 'Film Prüfstelle Berlin' upper right and with 'Decla-Bioscop A.-G. Neubabelsberg' as well as 'Nibelungen 1. Teil' or 'Nibelungen 2. Teil' stamps on the verso. Each with single-sided mounted flyleaf, thereon handwritten intertitles of the film in ink, as well as consecutively numbered '1' to '77'. Together in original linen folder with gilt embossed title 'Die Nibelungen'. - Folder with traces of usage. Flyleafs partially loose and here and there with small tears..

At the shooting of the Nibelungen films by Fritz Lang (1st part Siegfried, 2nd part Kriemhild's Revenge), Horst von Harbou was responsible for the production stills that were used as display photographs in showcases at cinemas. The decorative portfolio with prints and intertitles is presumably a gift to a person within the circles of the production team.
