Pencil drawing on tracing paper with perforated side margin 43 x 32.5 cm, framed under glass. Signed Dix lower right. - With minor age-related defects, mounted into mat with adhesive tape in upper corners.

This drawing is one of the more elaborate sketches in the series of studies for the painting after the portrait of Helene Lange, the mother of the Krefeld manufacturer Lange (see Lorenz, vol. III, p. 989 ff.). The painting illustrated in Löffler under cat. nr. 1925/8 was destroyed in World War II.
