Literature

Cf. cat. Carl Daniel Freydanck, Berlin 1987, no. 22. Here listed a panorama from the same viewpoint dated around 1845. The present depiction is thought to be based on an earlier painting showing the view before Frederick William IV’s ascent to the throne painted either by Freydanck or as a design for a large later panorama. A vase with an identical view from around the time prior to 1830 in: Wittwer (ed.), Raffinesse & Eleganz, Munich 2007, no. 117.
