A Berlin KPM porcelain urn with views of Potsdam

Model "Vase mit gekrümmten Henkeln", fired in two parts and screw-mounted. With two finely painted views in large angular reserves: "Ansicht von Potsdam." after August Wilhelm Schirmer and "Das Königl. Schloß in Potsdam." Two Neoclassical scroll motifs surrounding rosettes above the handles. Blue sceptre mark, brown imperial eagle mark, red painter's mark. H 51, D 34.5 cm.
1825, the model attributed to Karl Friedrich Schinkel.

Wittwer cites an entry in the royal Conto Buch on 3rd June 1825 for "Eine Vase mit Ansicht Potsdamer Schlosses u Rathauses u der ansciht der Stadt vom Brauhausberg" for the birthday of "S.K.H. Prinz Wilhelm, Bruder seiner Majestät" on 3rd July 1825, for which King Frederick William III paid 423 taler 15 Gr (Staatsarchiv, I HA, Rep 120, FIV, no. 1, p. 59).
