A Sorgenthal porcelain plate in the Egyptian taste

The well decorated with a scene of Neoclassical figures around a sacrificial altar, the rim with pseudo-hieroglyphs in three trapezoid reserves alternating with symbols and letters in medallions. Bordered by a band of stylised flowerheads on brown ground. Blue bindenschild mark, year stamp 97, iron red 7. for Josef Ockawalsky, potter's no. 19. D 24.2 cm.
Vienna, Sorgenthal manufactory, fired 1797 and decorated shortly after.
