A Berlin KPM porcelain dessert plate from the generals' service for Prince Ludwig von Hessen-Homburg

Unidentified model. The well painted with the Iron Cross with the copper memorial coin for soldiers of 1813/14 surrounded by a wreath of oak and laurel. Blue sceptre mark with black dash, red astrological symbol of Venus, impressed 25, incised III. The decor slightly blackened due to firing flaws. D 24.9 cm.
Circa 1820.

Prince Ludwig von Hessen-Homburg (1770 - 1839) lived in Luxembourg, and the service was sent to him there from Berlin on 1st August 1821 accompanied by a hand-written letter of thanks from King Frederick William III.
