A Bernhard Wanschaff signed Berlin chest of drawers with a clock

Walnut and maple veneer on oak, bone and brass inlays, ormolu mountings, enamel dial, thread suspension and half-hourly strike on a bell. Cabinet with four drawers in an architectural design with two protruding columns beneath a gable. The upper section comprising a fluted cabinet beneath two gables. The fluted column forming the clock case. Upper section with two compartments and six drawers. The upper drawer can be folded down to form a writing surface concealing two smaller drawers. The inner panel of the upper section signed in pencil "Bernhardt Wanschaff fecit Anno 1821 a Berlin". Older restorations, a filled chip to the dial. H 203.5, W 127, D 64.5 cm.
