A Sèvres porcelain cup with cameo painting from the service for the Baroness de Boubers

"Tasse calice" model with original saucer. The cup with finely painted cameos in three reserves and an additional motif to the saucer. Richly gilt throughout with Empire foliate motifs and laurel swags. Red stamped mark M.Imp.le de Sevres 1809, incised marks.

Two other cups from this service in cat.: Napoléon Ier & la Manufacture de Sèvres, Paris 2016, no. 86, p. 323: "Ce cabaret fait partie des porcelaines livrées le 28 décembre 1812 au palais des Tuileries pour être données en présent par l´Impératrice à l´occasion du 1er jour de l´an 1813. Celui-ci est destiné à la baronne de Boubers (Vy21, fol. 32 et Vbb4, fol 12v). La baronne fut, avec Mme Mesrigny, la sous-gouvernante du roi de Rome."
