Frederick II commissioned another extensive service in 1768. Like the service for the "Neues Palais", he also stipulated relief decor with "naturalistic flowers and insects and a gold foliate border". The service must have been popular with the King and his guests, as he placed a subsequent order for 72 dinner plates in 1773.
