A Berlin KPM porcelain dessert plate with "deutschen blumen"

"Dessertteller mit Bandelwerk-Durchbruch" model. Decorated with scattered flowers and a bouquet of roses. Blue sceptre mark, impressed T and 4. D 26 cm.
Circa 1763.

The design for this plate was inspired by Meissen. Under the model no. 4319 with "Brühlscher Durchbruch", the dessert plate was used in a dinner and dessert service which Friedrich II presented to his close advisor and fellow soldier during the Seven Years' War General Wichard von Möllendorff. This popular decor was probably adopted by Gotzkowsky and thus entered the formal repertoir of KPM.
