Literature

Cf. Wittwer (ed.), Raffinesse & Eleganz, Munich 2007, p. 318 ff., a plate with a view of Heidelberg Palace, sold in Lempertz Berlin, Twinight Collection I on 7th November 2018, lot 83.
The decor of the border with etched butterflies and shells was probably based on a Vienna model and is mentioned in the painter's commission book in connection with a delivery made in 1819 (SPSG, KPM-Archiv, Land Berlin, Buch 1813 - 20, 26th February 1819, p. 364.)
