A Sèvres porcelain plate from the "départements" service

"Assiette plate" model. painted with a labelled view of the "CATHEDRALE DU MANS" in the "DÉPARTEMENT DE LA SARTHE" in a blue surround by gilt tendrils. The yellow ground border with six faux cameo medallions representing various trades, with portraits of Charles de Cossé, René Choppin, and Germain Pilon alternating with labelled medallions amid floral festoons. Inscribed to the reverse with a list of the "Personnages célèbres" and an explanation of the attributes. Signed and dated "A. Poupart 1827." in the well. Blue stamped double-L monogram with fleur de lys, Sèvres and 27, "12 D.25 G." in green, R in brown, 23. J.n B.f." in gold, incised marks. D 23.8 cm.
