A Vienna porcelain cup and saucer "Die Sonne sinkt…"

Of cylindrical form with angular handle and original saucer. Decorated with a lake and mountains at sunset, the rim inscribed "Die Sonne sinkt, schon leuchten mir die Sterne, O wärst du da!". The well of the saucer painted with the sun and clouds approaching from the border. Blue "bindenschild" mark, year stamp 806, dreher's number 51.
Vienna, Imperial porcelain manufactory under Matthias Niedermayer, fired 1802 and 1806, decorated soon after.
