Literature

Cf. also: Wittwer (ed.), Raffinesse & Eleganz, Munich 2007, p. 268 f, no. 80, for a similar plate. In the archives, Wittwer discovered that on 24th April 1817 Frederick William III acquired two plates with coloured flowers on black ground with gilt leaf borders ("mit Blumen aus bunten Farben in schwarzem Grund, nebst goldenem Laub um Bord"), which may have been the present pieces.
