A Berlin KPM porcelain plate with a view of Prince Radziwill's Palace in Berlin

Model no. 1084. The well decorated with a view of the building, labelled to the reverse "Das Palais des Fürsten Radzivil in Berlin." and bordered by a Neoclassical frieze of lotus and laurel. Blue sceptre mark, red 156., impressed numbers, incised II. D 24.8 cm.
Circa 1820.

The palace on Wilhelmstr. 77 was designed and built by Carl Friedrich Richter in 1738/39. It was originally the Berlin residence of Prince Antoni Henryk Radziwill (1775 - 1833), a Polish politician and diplomat. It was acquired by the Prussian state in 1869 and transformed into the Imperial Chancellery by Otto von Bismarck.
