A rare Meissen porcelain clock with putti and doves

Fired in three pieces and screw-mounted. The base with chain ornament resting on four porcelain feet. The case hung with garlands and crowned by a pair of doves and a figure of Cupid with a burning torch. The pierced winding door of bronze. Blue crossed swords mark with dash. Minor restorations to the finials, minor chips to the flowers. Later movement, not running. Associated enamel dial with retouches. H 31, W 27, D 15 cm.

This design published in cat.: Meißener Porzellan von 1710 bis zur Gegenwart, Cologne 1983, under the no. 208, described in French "Pendule quarrée couronnée de deux Pigeons un Enfant à coté avec un Horloge à repetition". Ibid. under no. 44 a smaller version with just the case and two doves modelled by Acier in 1766.
