An 18th century marble figure of a sleeping putto, probably Flemish

Carved in the round. Finely carved figure of a putto lying on a cloth holding on to a crown of fruit placed around his head. Predecessors of this composition can be traced back to around 1600.
Minimal wear. Mounted on a black marble base. 11.5 x 35 x 17 cm (without base).
