India ink and watercolour resp. opaque white, partially over pencil, on smooth ivory-coloured paper 20.4 x 13.2 cm Framed under glass. Signed and dated 'H. Zille 10.18' in India ink below the depiction, titled above 'Neuordnung. Octobertage [sic] 1918.' and with a 5-line text in own handwriting below the depiction. - Mounted verso with adhesive strips under the mat in the upper half of the sheet as well as at the lower margin in the centre, the adhesive at the bottom slightly showing through on recto; otherwise in fine condition.

According to Matthias Flügge, the sheet relates to "Kriegsmarmelade", which was created in 1916-1919, a portfolio of original works designed by Zille, now in the collection of Axel Springer Verlag, Berlin.
