A large rectangular Satsuma vase. Kyoto. Late 19th century
Finely painted in enamels and gold to each side with ladies and children in a garden with azaleas and blossoming trees, an autumn landscape with peasants and oxen, a large crowd in a temple compound at cherry blossom time and wildgeese and autumn grasses, shikishi-shaped panels filled with brocade patterns to the foot and shoulder. Signed at the base Dai Nihon Kyoto tôjiki gôshi kaisha, logo of the Yasuda Company and Okamoto Ryôzan.
