A rare and amusing boxwood netsuke of Daikoku and Ebisu. Late 18th/early 19th century
Daikoku, looking like a peasant but identifiable by his headdress and mallet, on his back he carries a tiny figure of Ebisu with a bamboo branch with good luck charms including a notebook with the character reading chô (notebook) in allusion to the commonly written daifukuchô.
