Baluster form candlestick decorated with a relief of stiff foliage. The base engraved "FA" and with the silver weight and inventory number 9. H 17 cm, weight 284 g.
Dresden, marks of Carl David Schrödel, ca. 1770.

This candlestick originally belonged to one of the six silver services which O'Bryn records as being kept in the Dresden court silver until 1880. On page 148 of his notes he mentions "124 glatt faconnierte Spielleuchter, gezeichnet (FA), mit Monogramm C.D.S." A set of 12 is today housed in the Grünes Gewölbe in Dresden.
