An important and probably unique Vienna porcelain nativity scene

Fired in four parts:
1. The stable and thatched roof with the donkey, ox, and Saint Joseph.
2. The Virgin Mary and the Christ Child with a bound lamb and a bird's nest full of eggs.
3. An adoring shepherd family with a bird's nest and a bird.
4. An old kneeling and a young standing shepherd. Blue "bindenschild" mark to the back of the stable, two pieces marked 30 in brown. Both of the donkey's ears, the cow's horns, and the hands of the shepherd father with old discoloured restorations. Chips to two fingers below the bird's nest, to the brim of one hat, and to the roof thatching. An unglazed area to the roof, presumably where an angel was lost during firing. H stable 27, W ca. 30, D ca. 18 cm.
Imperial Vienna Porcelain Manufactory, this model possibly made after 1749, presumably painted in around 1760 by Andreas Hagl.
