A Flemish carved ivory figure of the Virgin and Child, second half 17th century

Carved in the round, minimal remains of partial polychromy. A finely rendered and detailed depiction of the standing Virgin with elongated proportions holding the nude Christ Child with a globe over Her hip.
One finger of Mary's right hand and the sceptre lost. Yellowing to the reverse. Mounted on a velvet covered wooden plinth. Height 17.8 cm (without plinth).
