A Canton ivory work box. Ca. 1830

Of rectangular shape, and on four lion paw's feet, carved all over. On the lid In deep relief a dignified couple surrounded by many figures in a garden landscape with pavilions, to the sides a hunting scene and more figures in a garden landscape, to the inside a removable tray and an array of sewing implements. Moveable handles of bronze. The lock missing, various glued areas and one small corner restoration.
Height 12.1 cm; width 23.6 cm; depth 17.7 cm
