A Vienna porcelain cup and saucer with a painting reproduction after Carlo Cignani

Of cylindrical form with original saucer. Decorated with a depiction of Cimon and Pero representing "Caritas Romana" in a round gilt surround. Blue bindenschild mark, year stamp 802, 103. in purple (saucer), dreher's number (cup) for Mathias Schwaiger. The inner gilt rim of the cup with minor wear, a minute rim chip.

Carlo Cignani's work was painted some time between 1690 and 1700 and has been housed in the painting gallery of the Museum of Fine Arts in Vienna since at least 1783 (inv. no. 226).
