Two pewter-mounted Berlin faience tankards

1. Indianische blumen on yellow ground. The pewter mountings presumably Spandau, with basal ring. Formerly the Behse collection, Braunschweig, sold in Lempertz auction 661 on 11th December 1990, lot 886. H 23.5 cm.
2. Yellow and ochre coloured flowers on manganese ground. The pewter mountings marked and with closed base. Formerly the collection of Dr. Konrad Strauß, Munich. H 24 cm. Unmarked. Cracks to the bases.
Manufactory of Johann Gottlieb Menicus, circa 1740 - 50.
