A side table attributed to the studio of the Gebrüder Spindler

Palisander, rosewood, walnut, and stained wood veneers on oak, partially engraved and with black contours, ormolu mountings. Four slender curved supports of square section with pronounced knees supporting an apron with three slightly convex faces and one slightly concave face, one drawer to the right. Heart-shaped hinged lid concealing four interior compartments. The top inlaid with a basket of flowers in a large cartouche of C-shaped scrolls and rocailles on striped walnut veneer. The apron decorated with single flowers in four fields. Lockplate and key replaced. Minor losses, older restorations. H 69, W 41.5, D 33.2 cm.
Potsdam, Johann Friedrich and Heinrich Wilhelm Spindler, circa 1760 - 70.
