Literature

There is ample archival evidence of this service in Dresden, Meissen, and Berlin, the most helpful of which is probably: Geh. StA Berlin SPK, I HA Geheimer Rat, Rep. 36, no. 1928, fol. 8r-31v, which specifies orders placed by the king from the Meissen manufactory comprising 79 crates labelled No. 1 to 79. A large selection of pieces from the present service were found in crate No. 1, and numerous subsequent orders were to follow.
