A Berlin KPM porcelain platter with confit bowls

Comprising a platter with two integral confit dishes, the original lids with pinecone finials. Blue sceptre mark, pressnummer 26. A minor glaze chip to the rim. H 10, W 26.4 cm.
Circa 1780.

Literature

This unusual object, fired in one piece apart from the lids, is based on a model developed by Sèvres. A Sèvres model of identical form and decor from the "bleu lapis caillouté d´or décoré de fleurs" service which was given as a gift by Louis XV to Christian VII of Denmark in 1771 can be found in: Brunet/Préaud, Sèvres.
