Oval basket on a waisted base. The corpus decorated with flowerhead and vine relief, the centre with the Prussian eagle above crossed oak leaves. L 24; W 18; H 18 cm, weight 312 g.
Marks of Gebrüder Gericke, 1819 - 24.

By repute, this basket was given as a presentation gift from King Friedrich Wilhelm III to his court preacher and personal advisor Friedrich Ehrenberg (1776 - 1852) who married Wilhelmine Sophie v. Heydebreck in 1819 following the early death of his first wife.
