A Berlin KPM porcelain dessert plate with a view of Schloss Carolath

Model no. 1084. The well painted with a view of the Renaissance palace on the river Oder. Blue sceptre mark with red dash below, painter's mark F, pressnummer 26, incised III. D 24.7 cm.
Circa 1815 - 20.

The imposing Renaissance structure of Carolath castle in Lower Silesia (today Zamek w Siedlisku in Poland) was destroyed by the soldiers of the Red Army towards the end of the Second World War and now only exists as a ruin.

Literature

The plate is linked to the production of the dessert plates for the service with the Iron Helmet and can almost certainly be dated to around the same time. Several plates were decorated by the same painter, cf. cat.: Orden auf königlichem Porzellan, Schloss Fasanerie 2013, p. 103 ff.
