Flat baluster-form in the manner of Delft with corresponding domed lid and finial formed as a white Fo-dog. Blue sceptre mark with Sgr.P. The dog model reattached, a vertical crack to the rim. H 64.3 cm.
After 1882.

In the early 1880s, the chemist Dr. Ernst Seger developed an oxblood glaze similar to that used in early Chinese porcelain. It was applied to a new type of mass similar to soft-paste porcelain. KPM used this glaze for new and unusual Oriental style pieces, which greatly enriched their usual repertoire. There was substantial international interest in KPM's technical chemistry laboratory, not least because this was the first time an important porcelain manufactory had contributed to these kinds of chemical experiments and produced saleable items.
