A rare Halle silver tankard

Silver; with remains of gilding. Silver tankard with remnants of former gilding. The rounded base decorated with embossed acanthus, cylindrical body with a depiction of the adoration of the shepherds to one side and the adoration of the magi to the other in bas relief, the lid embossed with flowers. With a stamped inventory number to the underside ".302." Brands: BZ Halle an der Saale before 1708, MZ AH (probably August Hosse, worked about 1684 - 1732, Rosenberg no. 2303, 2305). The lid with isolated solder joints and small indentation. H 19 cm, weight 896 g.
Halle an der Saale, maker's mark “AH” presumably that of August Hosse, around 1700.
