A rare Meissen porcelain model of a lioness and cub

A naturalistically painted model of a lioness seated on an earth mound base encrusted with flowers and foliage, shielding her cub with her front paw and with her mouth opened in a raw. With faint blue crossed swords mark to the front of the base (?). Restored and later filled firing crack to the underside, minor chips to the flowers and foliage. H 13.1, W 15.5 cm.
Around 1751, modelled by Johann Joachim Kaendler.
