According to the catalogue entry for the auction at Galerie Fischer, the building depicted here is Amsterdam city hall, which was constructed between 1648 and 1665. This drawing shows a building in its unfinished state, either during construction or when it was being torn down. The watermark of this paper, a sun with rays, can be found in a slightly differing version on Italian and Southern French papers of the 17th century.
