A handachi katana. Length of the blade 74.3 cm, shinogi zukuri, suguha hamon, mokume-itame hada. Nakago: ubu, one mekugi-ana, mei: Hizen (no) Kuni Tadayoshi. Rubbed and traces of rust.
Koshirae: complete 19th century iron handachi-koshirae with tendrils in gold nunome, Hizen style, iron tsuba of mokkô shape, hammered pattern of pine needles, one menuki in the shape of a dragon in shakudô and gold, green binding over same, saya: black lacquer with aogai.
