A magnificent Thuringian faience tankard

Decorated with a large building, a man in a loin cloth, and a dancing Chinoiserie figure. Blue W mark with dash. Some short cracks, a Y-shaped crack in the base, wear to the glaze of the rims. Slightly loose pewter mountings with indistinct marks, the lid engraved "A.S. 1761". H with thumbrest 30.5 cm.
Erfurt, decor by Johann Jacob Wunderlich, 2nd quarter 18th C.
