A Strasbourg faience plate with floral decor

Scalloped plate decorated with a bouquet of four flowers in the centre and two smaller flowers to the rim, the motifs based on engravings. The rim with a gilt "houndstooth" border after a design by Meissen. Manganese mark Sx. Glaze cracks. D 25.2 cm.
Paul Hannong period, 1754 - 62, decor attributed to Christian-Wilhelm von Löwenfinck.

Provenance

Private collection, Westphalia, acquired in 1979 from Fischer-Böhler in Munich.
