A rare small round cast iron plaque

Black patinated cast iron. Relief bust of the Tzarina facing right, wearing a shawl and chemise gown. D 3.5 cm.
Prussian iron foundry, the model by Leonhard Posch, c. 1816.

Catharina Pawlowna Romanowa (1788 - 1819), Grand Princess of Russia and daugher of Tsar Paul I., was Queen of Wurttemberg from 1816 to 1819.
