A complete set of cast iron plaques with the 12 Apostles

In May 1820, mining inspector Johann Carl Ludewig Gerhard (1768 – 1835) suggested the creation of 13 plaques with depictions of Christ and the twelve Apostles after now lost engraved prototypes. The reliefs were completed in December of the same year and listed in the academy catalogue as casts from Gleiwitz (Forschler-Tarrasch, p. 223).
